About Us

Kasturi Foundation is a non-profit organization registered under Internal Revenue Code 501 (c)( 3 )based in the USA to serve society. Founded in 2019, Kasturi Foundation started as a dream of a small team, who were inspired by the eternal wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita,which proclaims, "Lokasamgraha mevaapi sampashyan kartumarhasi" — Act with the welfare of the world in mind. Anchored in this timeless philosophy and the ethos of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” — the world is one family — we endeavor to uplift communities, promote health, and nurture educational opportunities for those in need. Kasturi Foundation serves humanity irrespective of race, color, religion, gender, and nationality. It supports organizations which empowers underprivileged children, youth, and adults through relevant education and innovative health care.

Our Programs

Education (Vidhya Dhaana)

Helping children in need to get proper education and assist to make them independent. Kasturi Foundation works with the non-profit organizations and community services who provide free education for underprivileged children. They believe if a child is educated, they can face and outcome their life problems with appropriate knowledge and can rise to the level of supporting their family and eventually the society. In Bhagavad Gita, it said:

विद्याविनयसंपन्ने ब्रह्मेणे गवि हस्तिनि | शुनि चैव च पण्डिताः समदर्शिनः ||

Bhagavad Gita-Chapter 5, Verse 18

which means: the learned, knowledgeable person will see and treat everyone equally, thus ending the discrimination in society.

Helping the non-profit organizations who are providing health care to the poor and needy people. Kasturi Foundation supports non-profit organizations and community services who provide free or discounted health care for the deserved people. Good health is the key for happiness.

Founders

Govardhan Gowda

Founder of Kasturi Foundation. He is the first Kannadiga to start an event management company called Kasturi Media to serve Kannada community, and support the Kannada language, culture, movies, and shows. He is also a co-founder of a popular Kannada Radio show “Bengaluru Voice” to motivate fellow Kannadigas to follow their passion. He is a Software Engineer by profession with 25 years of experience in IT Industry. He has a passion for serving his community. He has involved and contributed to various non- profit organizations like KKNC, TVKS, AKKA, NAVIKA, VPA, SSCF and Sewa.

Ashitha Kunjali

Co- founder of Kasturi Foundation and Kasturi Media. Ashitha is a passionate Kannadati who strongly believes in giving back to the community we belong and also to support, facilitate the promotion of our Kannada language, culture in different parts of USA. She enjoys volunteering and help people in need, has involved with various non-profit organizations like KKNC, AKKA, NAVIKA, VPA, SSCF, Austin Kannada Sanga and Kannada Kali schools in SF Bay area and Austin to serve the community. she is a director of preschool and enjoys scaffolding children's learning skills.
